FROM THE BACK COVER:  Abigail Donovan has a lot of stuff that she should be doing. Namely writing her next novel. A bestselling author who is still recovering from a near Pulitzer Prize win and the heady success that follows Oprah's stamp of approval, she is stuck at Chapter Five and losing confidence daily. But when her publicist signs her up for a Twitter account, she's intrigued. What's all the fuss about?

Taken under the wing of one of her Twitter followers, "MarkBaynard" ~ a quick-witted, quick-typing professor on sabbatical-Abby finds it easy to put words out into the world 140 characters at a time.  And once she gets a handle on tweets, retweets, direct messages, hashtags, and trends, she starts to feel unblocked in writing and in life.  After all, why should she be spending hours in her apartment staring at her TweetDeck and fretting about her stalled career when Mark is out there traveling the world and LIVING?

Told almost entire in tweets and DMs, Goodnight Tweetheart is a truly modern take on a classic tale of love-a Griffin and Sabine for the Twitter generation.

MY TAKE:    I thought this was a really fun departure from the author's fabulous "The Devil Wears Plaid" which you can read my review of HERE.  While I have to admit that I am still not very active on Twitter, I was intrigued by the promise of a love story told in tweets and direct messages.  I was not disappointed.

The reader can almost immediately feel Abby's pain and frustration with her writing block.  Especially when she attends a book-signing event that turns into a disaster and immensely embarrassing event.  She is a very relatable character.

Mark Baynard is an intriguing mystery man.  He is witty and well-spoken or well-written I guess would be more apt since it's all in tweets.  It does become obvious fairly early on though that he is definitely hiding something.

A highly enjoyable book which was a fun read for me.  The journey that we take with Abby is one well worth taking.  I must say that an important thing that I took away from this book is to be doubly sure that a tweet with a sexy innuendo needs to be a direct message instead of being broadcast to several hundred followers...  Read the book to share in THAT lesson.

Review - The Devil Wears Plaid by Teresa Medeiros

TITLE:    The Devil Wears Plaid

FROM GOODREADS:
AN INNOCENT WOMAN.....Emmaline Marlow is about to wed the ancient patriarch of the Hepburn clan to save her father from debtor's prison when the Hepburn's sworn enemy Jamie Sinclair bursts into the abbey on a magnificent black horse and whisks her away. Jamie is everything her bridegroom is not--young, handsome, virile...and a perilous temptation for her yearning heart.

A DANGEROUS MAN...Jamie expects Emma to be some milksop English miss, not a spirited beauty who will defy him at every turn. All of his plans to use her as a pawn in the centuries old Highland feud begin to go awry when irresistible passion flares between the two of them. A man can kidnap a bride, but is it possible for him to steal her innocence without losing his own heart?

MY TAKE:   This was an enjoyable read full of excitement, lust and mystery.  When Jamie kidnaps Emma right from the altar, the fun begins.  The author gives vivid details on the scenery, their trek into hiding, the everyday goings-on of Highland life and full character descriptions.  She weaves her mystery well in the background as well as into the front story of Jamie and Emma's growing attraction to each other.  There are several other surprises that pop up that the reader doesn't expect.  This all adds up to a fun and exciting romance set in one of my favorite locations and times.

I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance, especially if you're rather fond of the brawny men in kilts.  I'm looking forward to reading more from Teresa Medeiros in the near future.
