Guest Post + Giveaway - Jill Shalvis

Welcome and take it away Jill Shalvis, best-selling author of The Lucky Harbor series..

Dear Reader,

Writing a romance called The Sweetest Thing, which centers around a decidedly NOT sweet heroine, amused me. Tara Daniels is wound a little tight and likes things her way. She’s also a former southern belle who appreciates the fact that she’s right. A lot.

The Sweetest Thing? Not exactly.

But her heart’s in the right place, always. And, as it turns out, there’s a man who melts her like butter on a hot roll. Not only that, he can soften her in a way that she isn’t sure she likes. See, Tara thinks she has it all together, but it turns out she doesn’t. She doesn’t know a lot about herself. About all she has is the fact that she can cook like nobody’s business. Oh, how she loves to cook.

Tara was a challenge for me. Because here’s where I admit, I got a lot of her recipes from my husband. True story. I’m married to a big guy who works with his hands and is the ultimate Alpha Man -- and yet he can cook. Don’t try to figure him out, it’ll hurt your brain, trust me.

The recipe Good Morning Sunshine Casserole that Tara cooks in the book is all his. Just don’t tell him I “borrowed” it and am telling the world that it’s my heroine’s. It’d just go to his head.

P.S. For an ebook of Tara’s recipes, look for Heating Up The Kitchen wherever ebooks are sold.

  2. I love to make carrot cake for my husband - from a recipe, not a box. I don't even like carrot cake, but it makes him so happy! The best compliment I ever got for it was that "it tastes just like store-bought!"

  3. This sounds cute! I would love to be entered in the drawing. My favorite thing to make from a recipe is cupcakes! I've made banana cupcakes with a cream cheese molasses icing (courtesy of the Nealy's on Food Network) and I'm soon going to try chocolate cupcakes with homemade peanut butter frosting AND a delicious converted Paula Deen recipe for pink lemonade cupcakes (Paula's recipe is for pink lemonade layer cake).

  4. My favorite thing to make from a recipe is some bread dip that my family calls "Evil Bread Dip" because it is SO good. My sister made this for Thanksgiving last year and that was all it took. I got the recipe from her and I make it as often as I can. It is so delicious!

  22. I have read nice things about this book. She sounds like the kind of heroine that you need to get to know to appreciate.
I love to cook, and so does my husband. Luckily we are both decent at it. I have a Sour Cream Crescent Roll recipe that we love. They are rich and melt in your mouth. We save them for special meals and I need to make a double batch (4 dozen each).

    Thanks for the giveaway.
